Application: [Arg6]-β-Amyloid (1–40) is a mutant amyloid peptide containing the England mutation, in which histidine at position 6 is replaced by arginine. This autosomal dominant Alzheimer’s disease-associated mutation accelerates oligomer formation, promotes fibril seeding, and increases neurotoxicity compared with wild-type Aβ(1–40). The [Arg6] substitution alters charge distribution at the N-terminus, influencing aggregation kinetics and peptide–membrane interactions. This peptide is widely used in Alzheimer’s disease research to study mutation-specific amyloid toxicity, familial disease mechanisms, aggregation behavior, fibril formation, and molecular determinants of amyloid-related neurodegeneration.
