Application: [Asn23]-β-Amyloid (1–42) is a mutant amyloid peptide containing the Iowa mutation, in which aspartic acid at position 23 is replaced by asparagine. This mutation is associated with severe cerebral amyloid angiopathy and autosomal dominant Alzheimer’s disease. The altered residue enhances peptide aggregation, accelerates fibril formation, and increases vascular amyloid deposition and toxicity. [Asn23]-β-Amyloid (1–42) is widely used in neurodegeneration research to study mutation-driven amyloid pathology, structure–aggregation relationships, vascular amyloid mechanisms, cerebral amyloid angiopathy, and therapeutic strategies targeting familial Alzheimer’s disease-associated amyloid variants.
