Application: Thrombin Receptor Activator Peptide-6 (TRAP-6) is a short peptide corresponding to residues 42–47 of protease-activated receptor-1. It acts as a tethered ligand mimic and directly activates PAR-1 without requiring thrombin-mediated proteolytic cleavage. TRAP-6 induces platelet activation, intracellular signaling, and thromboxane production, making it an important tool for platelet function studies. It has also been reported to activate PAR-2 under certain experimental conditions. TRAP-6 is widely used in research on protease-activated receptor signaling, platelet aggregation, vascular biology, inflammatory responses, coagulation pathways, and thrombin-related cellular activation mechanisms.
