Application: Biotinylated human amylin is a modified form of human islet amyloid polypeptide, a 37-amino-acid hormone co-secreted with insulin by pancreatic β-cells. Amylin regulates glucose metabolism by slowing gastric emptying and suppressing glucagon secretion. It is also a major component of amyloid deposits found in pancreatic islets of patients with type 2 diabetes. N-terminal biotinylation enables affinity-based detection, immobilization, and interaction studies. Biotinylated human amylin is widely used in diabetes research, metabolic studies, amyloid aggregation assays, hormone signaling analysis, and investigations of islet amyloid formation and β-cell dysfunction.
