Application: Beta-Amyloid (1–28) is a highly hydrophilic N-terminal fragment of amyloid-β that adopts a predominantly α-helical conformation in solution. Structural studies indicate close proximity between histidine-13 and lysine-16, forming a potential binding motif for heparan sulfate proteoglycans. Although it lacks the hydrophobic C-terminal region, Beta-Amyloid (1–28) can form elongated fibrillar assemblies and has been shown to influence cholesterol esterification in human plasma. This peptide is widely used in Alzheimer’s disease, structural biology, biochemical, and biophysical research to study amyloid interactions, fibril formation, and peptide–matrix binding mechanisms.
