Application: MeOSuc-Ala-Ala-Pro-Val-AFC is a highly specific fluorogenic substrate for neutrophil elastase, a serine protease involved in innate immune defense, inflammation, and tissue remodeling. Upon enzymatic cleavage, the AFC fluorophore is released, producing a strong fluorescence signal measurable at Abs/Em 380/500 nm. Neutrophil elastase activity is closely associated with chronic inflammatory diseases, lung injury, and neutrophil-driven tissue damage.
