AAP-H is a pentapeptide derived from the sea anemone Anthopleura anjunae with demonstrated anticancer activity. It has been shown to inhibit proliferation of prostate cancer cells and promote apoptosis. Mechanistic studies suggest that AAP-H modulates the PI3K/AKT/mTOR signaling pathway, leading to activation of mitochondrial- and death receptor-mediated apoptotic processes. This peptide is useful for investigating marine-derived bioactive peptides, cancer cell survival pathways, apoptosis regulation, prostate cancer mechanisms, and peptide-based anticancer strategies. AAP-H supports research into natural peptide therapeutics and signaling pathways involved in tumor cell death.
