Application: [Pro19]-Beta-Amyloid (1–42) is a variant of full-length beta-amyloid (1–42) in which phenylalanine at position 19 is replaced with proline. This single amino acid substitution disrupts β-sheet formation and significantly inhibits amyloid fibril assembly. Because fibrillation of Aβ(1–42) is a central feature of Alzheimer’s disease pathology, [Pro19]-Beta-Amyloid (1–42) is valuable as a negative control and mechanistic probe. This peptide is widely used to study amyloid aggregation, structure–function relationships, β-sheet disruption, fibril formation mechanisms, and therapeutic strategies designed to prevent or modulate amyloid assembly.
