Application: Scrambled-beta-Amyloid (1–40) is a sequence-randomized control peptide based on the amino acid composition of native beta-amyloid (1–40). Although it contains the same amino acids as Aβ(1–40), its altered sequence disrupts ordered aggregation and prevents typical amyloid fibril formation. This peptide does not display the characteristic biological or toxic activities associated with native beta-amyloid. Scrambled-beta-Amyloid (1–40) is widely used as a negative control in amyloid aggregation assays, cytotoxicity studies, binding experiments, and Alzheimer’s disease research to distinguish sequence-specific amyloid effects from nonspecific peptide interactions.
