Application: Angiotensin (1–7) is a bioactive heptapeptide generated from angiotensin I or angiotensin II through alternative enzymatic processing. Unlike angiotensin II, Angiotensin (1–7) exerts vasodilatory, natriuretic, anti-inflammatory, and antiproliferative effects. These actions are mediated primarily through the G protein-coupled Mas receptor. Angiotensin (1–7) is widely used in cardiovascular, renal, and metabolic research to study counter-regulatory pathways within the renin–angiotensin system. It supports investigations of blood pressure control, vascular protection, tissue repair, renal function, endothelial signaling, and therapeutic strategies targeting protective RAS signaling.
