Application: Dynorphin A (1–17) is a biologically active endogenous opioid peptide generated from the prodynorphin precursor through proteolytic processing. It acts primarily as a ligand for the κ-opioid receptor, a G protein–coupled receptor involved in pain modulation, stress responses, reward pathways, and mood regulation. Dynorphin A also influences nociception, appetite control, drug addiction, and neurobehavioral processes. Under certain conditions, it has been linked to neuroexcitatory and neurotoxic effects beyond classical opioid signaling. This peptide is widely used in opioid receptor pharmacology, neurobiology, pain research, addiction studies, and behavioral regulation experiments.
