KT2 is a cationic amphipathic peptide engineered from Leucrocin I, originally isolated from Crocodylus siamensis. It exhibits broad anticancer activity, including inhibition of cancer cell viability, induction of apoptosis, and suppression of migration and invasion in multiple cancer cell lines. KT2 has been shown to downregulate MMP-2 and MMP-9 expression through modulation of FAK, MAPK, PI3K/AKT, NF-κB, and RhoA–ROCK signaling pathways. This peptide is widely used to study peptide-based anticancer mechanisms, metastasis inhibition, apoptosis signaling, tumor invasion, and therapeutic peptide development.
