Application: Orexin B is a hypothalamic neuropeptide synthesized by neurons in the posterolateral hypothalamus and involved in regulating arousal, sleep–wake states, feeding behavior, energy homeostasis, and autonomic nervous system activity. Unlike Orexin A, which binds both orexin receptor subtypes, Orexin B selectively interacts with the orexin-2 receptor, also known as OxR2. This receptor selectivity makes Orexin B a valuable tool for dissecting OxR2-mediated signaling pathways.
